A secluded beach

Reason was because the area and high wind made the water rougher and unpleasant for the journey as well as not certain how far of a swim was needed. After the exploration that turned out to be a dangerous but exciting tour of unchartered wilderness, the swim needed is not far at all, however, the swim to return would still be one not of pleasantries against the winds and waves. The finding was magnificent and very secluded feeling just for being around the large rock formation from the resort area. The only sight of people was native boaters that made an occasional pass by on the way to and from their village. With a friendly wave they returned a smile and wave as well. The beach is maybe 100yards long and 20 to 40 yards deep at spots. The beach is powdery sand with smooth stone as well as the water until about 4 feet deep then was clean flat clean sand. Dense forest behind and bordered on both sides by tall jagged rock making the climb would be too dangerous of a risk. A small cave was discovered and at high tide a crawl through the rolling water and rock was exciting and not hard to do (just a small amount of gusto needed) just beware of the tide and roughness. In honesty it is not deep or long - really one could consider it child play - still the element of danger is real and could be considered a foolish game of race to high water and crashing waves in an underwater formation by some. Beyond the cave rock is another secluded but smaller beach area reachable by swim or walk through the water. Even better, later we discovered that this area and much more aoround it... is for sale.

Talipanan Falls and Mangyan Village

The hike starts with a walk through a nice and friendly school village (Mangyan Village). The village people have a row of beautiful crafts for sale offering various styles and sizes. There is a no pressure and only kindness, helpful assistance from them and there are a few men that will ask if you would like them to guide you to the falls (recommended for safety and peace of mind). The hike is both sporty and has its danger element along the way (wear good griping no slip shoes). Taking water is a good idea of course and a pack lunch to picnic your success and enjoy the view. The hike and falls are still very natural and holds the beauty of its peaceful ambience. Respect to the area and the people not just at the falls but in all of your vacation experience. <?

White Sand Beach Puerto Galera

A shirt/tank top (XL) will run around 130-200php same goes for swim trunks (men). The cost of food is all very fair from what was seen. Tricycle rides out of town to another beach will run around 20-30php each way. The beach is big and water is on the calmer side offering easy snorkel, swimming or just a fun time getting wet. Volleyball net offers beach fun and festival/music events take place at times. There are also massage girls looking for someone to give a relaxing rub down. The main street has several currency change locations and motorbike rentals. A mini grocery store near the towns entry has all the necessary items on should need, if not there are many smaller markets offering various items. A few tattoo shops offer ink that lasts a lifetime.

The above is just daytime hours. I have not yet roamed the night beach or streets, however, I did pass a DJ night club and seen plenty of guys and girls that would take part in the nights play. Alchohol is ofcourse easy to find and price varies as usual from the cheap headache brew to high dollar headache formula. Rum being the cheapest I've seen and the fastest way to drunken bends I hear

Bamboo House Beach Resort

Bamboo House Beach Lodge and Restaurant is on the bay/ocean sand, maybe 100 yards to the water around your ankles. Okay, now the resort and area; clean, large rooms. Restaurant is good value and good selection. Next door is a diver/scuba service. A great place to relax and is steps behind the modern headaches from society and technology. WIFI is available in room, just not strong so leave the work at home. Staying in the basic standard room I find the stay is a good mix of native and modern lifestyle - just know where you are at - not everywhere has the 2013 European/USA lazy amenities. Electricity is steady, just the needed room temp water for bathing. The beach is very clean and A LOT of swimming area and beach to enjoy. Beach is divided off from the White Sands Beach by a rock formation that can walked around in the water - separating the louder bunch from the serenity side - the walk is very nice with natures fantastic smooth decorative stones washed and polished by the ocean and laid to bed at the waves edge.

Offering the only swim and snorkel free area, this location was much: cleaner, quieter ,photographic, beach accessible, with pleasant snorkel views (only 50 yards from the resort) and discovery for the beginning underwater adventurer, compared to the near resorts. Big La Laguna is the name of the beach area and about a 15 minute walk along the beach path to the main town of Sabang - also the nearest port to the beaches - where food, shopping and entertainment are found. Sabang offers motor bike rentals for 400Php/day, local fruits and veggies, meat market, massages, and various trinket and souvenir choices/vendors.
