A beach/port town with connections

Sabang is a small town that has one of the few main ports getting to Mindoro/Puerto Galera from Batangas. Find all the expected souveniers, markets, tour options, and even a haircut... I got one at Marmel Salon (100php and a great job)

There are a few places for currency exchange. One is at Resort Hotel, on the main street walking up the road/hill on right .

The guy that did the exchange was talking strange to me about a cut of pork??? LOL..later he hit the punchline referring to the movie 'Silence of the Lambs' because after the haircut I looked like Ray Liota when he eats his own brain.

When you get to Sabang there are many boatmen that offer you a ride to other beaches and other usual destinations. I can personally refer you either of these three that are genuine and pleasant to deal with.

The boatman whos boat is ROWENA (named after his sister) .. # is 09279439266 his name is .. Eugene and was always ready to help. A trip from Sabang port to the Campbells Beach Resort was 200php, if you have luggage take a boat. The walk is nice but not with weight. I was being very resistant to the idea and glad to just go with the offer instead of walking with my load.

The boatman whos boat is Julie Ann ( he is anchored in the Big La Laguna Beach area beside Campbells Beach Resort) Nice guy and took us too a great spot for giant clam snorkeling on the way to Puerto Galera port. (900php for both)

Ponce G. Sumatod (he does pretty much all you need; snorkel,fishing,transport,tranfer from Manila,motorbike rental) I only know his rates for transport are normal fair rates and he speaks very well English, Sumayodjr.ponce@yahoo.com # 09157494135. At the time of meeting him he worked with Seashore Beach Resort and can set up reservations for you.

Tamaraw Falls is not far to visit and right off the main road. A jeepney or bike rental will make this easy to visit, and is a normal tourist destination.
